"I AM" is one of three paintings created in the studio as the deadline for my solo show approached. I felt a lot of fear, nervousness and anxiety as the show date approached. "I AM," contains my personal mantra, "I can do all things through Christ," and personal affirmations as a reminder to self on how to process my fear as the solo exhibition date approached. Alchemy 2021

Since early 2019, AVM envisioned creating an exceptional series of work, unlike anything anyone has ever seen previously, inspired by the highly inspirational and transformative book, “The Alchemist,” by Paulo Coelho. “Alchemy” is the process of transforming metal into gold, and also symbolically, transforming dreams into reality. This series contains several days of layers upon layers of mixed media, and gold leaf to literally transform the canvas into metal and gold. Each work of art, represents the transformation of a modern unassuming material, such as canvas and wood, and literally transform it into somethings so much more. It is AVM’s hope that this series reminds the viewer of their value, inherently, just as they are.
